There are several different aspects to your wedding that involve paper and stationary. Some of them are optional, others are essential. Here are a few of the elements you can consider for your wedding.
First is a “Save the Date”. This is purely a personal choice, they are not required. These are important if your wedding is far away from the guests whom you will be inviting, giving them several months notice will be critical if they need to make plans through work and find plane tickets. This is really just an announcement that comes before the actual invitation.
Next is the invitation. This is essential, as it will list detailed information regarding your big day. Most importantly, it will tell people when and where your wedding will take place.
Another mandatory stationary element to your wedding are escort cards or place cards. This is very important as it lets your guests know where to sit. It is always a good idea to arrange seating before hand, rather than the chaos that ensues with guests choosing their own seats. You don’t need both of these, however, one or the other will do. Escort cards are usually available at the entrance, and place cards on the table or plate at the actual seat.
