Destination Weddings

For those with the means, you have the option to have your wedding in a remote, or exotic location abroad. If you are looking for something a little more exciting than a home town wedding, you can choose to fly your guests to a distant location for a fun trip. Here are some tips on how to do so.

- If you have never been to the destination you have chosen, it is a good idea to make a trial trip and scope out the local before you land there for the first time a few days before you wedding. This way you can decide on everything in person, and be sure it is the place for you.

- Be conscious of the time of year. If you are setting a date for your destination wedding, be sure it isn’t in the dead of winter in Scandinavia. The date may mean something to you, but the weather can easily ruin your big day.

- Take the time to hire a wedding planner, one that is from your wedding destination, or very familiar with it. You will need help getting vendors, and it is unlikely you are familiar with the wedding scene in your destination country.
