Your guest list is one of the most controversial aspects of your wedding. Often it causes a lot of conflict and fights among the couple and their family and friends. So how do you determine who makes it, and who doesn’t? After all, you pay per guest, so it is a serious process.
First, try to keep the numbers equal between the two of you. That way, if you don’t agree on one guest, the bride or groom respectively doesn’t lose a spot on their own list.
It’s also a good idea to decide what is more important to you. A small, cozy wedding in a remote location, or a grand hall full of near 200 guests. You can’t have both, so your guest list will have to decide where you end up having your wedding.
Lastly, don’t feel guilty. It is important to remember that this is a day for you and your spouse, so don’t feel guilty about not inviting every person you have ever met, thinking they may feel excluded if you do not invite them. You have to pay per head at your wedding, so decide if it is worth the money to belay the guilt of keeping your guest list short.
